The Cleveland Browns have agreed to a two-year deal with free-agent linebacker Adarius Taylor, according to Jordan Schultz of ESPN.

Taylor spent the 2018 campaign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, playing in 15 games and finishing with 60 tackles, a sack, an interception, a forced fumble, and five passes defended.

The 28-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Florida Atlantic, went undrafted but eventually landed with the Carolina Panthers in 2014. He ended up appearing in 10 contests that season, logging 13 tackles and a forced fumble.

He then made his way to the Buccaneers for the 2015 campaign but participated in just five games, failing to record a statistic.

Taylor went on to play in all 16 games the following season, mainly in a special teams role as he totaled nine tackles. Then, in 2017, he began to earn a more significant role in Tampa Bay's defense, playing in 14 contests and registering 26 tackles, a sack, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, and a defensive touchdown.

The Bartow, Fl. native then had his breakout year of sorts this past season.

Taylor is just the latest addition to an improving Browns squad that also picked up pass rusher Olivier Vernon and stud wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. in separate trades with the New York Giants earlier this week.

Cleveland is coming off of a season in which it went 7-8-1, marking its best finish since winning 10 games all the way back in 2007. The Browns have not made the playoffs since the 2002-03 campaign, representing the longest active playoff drought in the NFL.
