The Cleveland Browns came out on top following a long battle for quarterback Deshaun Watson. However, the organization came out of the fight with bad blood within its own walls. Baker Mayfield requested to be traded from the team, Cleveland denied his request, and now, GM Andrew Berry is using the abundance of quarterbacks to his advantage.

The Athletic's Zac Jackson tweeted the general manager's perspective on the situation Tuesday afternoon.

“I think as we look at the QB room, we have three good players at the most important position in sports. That's not to say that there aren't things that we're going to work through over the course of the next several months, but I don't view it as a bad situation at all,” Berry said. “We feel like we have three good ones and a lot of teams are still looking for one guy, so you don't mind being deep there and we'll take it as it goes.”

Berry is referring to starting quarterback Deshaun Watson, former starter Baker Mayfield, and backup Jacoby Brissett as the Browns' three guys. This might not be a “bad situation” for Berry and the Browns, but it's certainly not ideal for Mayfield.

Berry didn't say much when asked what he was willing to give up to trade the quarterback. As Offseason Chopz views it, the Browns are trying to get leverage within the league, and force Mayfield to give Cleveland a check to relieve him of his contract.
