Baker Mayfield doesn't like Sam Ehlinger.

The Browns quarterback has never been one to mince his words and that certainly was the case in a recent interview when he was asked about the Texas Longhorns and their quarterback.

“Sam can stay down there in Texas,” Mayfield said Wednesday on SportsTalk 1400, via the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “That will stir the pot. He doesn’t like me and I hope he knows that I don’t like him either.”

Of course, Mayfield doesn't like Ehlinger, in part, because he doesn't like the University of Texas. Regarding the notion that Texas is back, Mayfield said, “They said the same thing when they beat Notre Dame a couple of years ago and they won like three games after that. I’m sick of that crap.”

Mayfield and Ehlinger crossed paths on the football field only once in college, with the Sooners pulling out a 29-24 win over their archrival. Mayfield led Oklahoma to victory by throwing for 302 yards and two touchdowns, while Ehlinger had 278 passing yards, 106 rushing yards and two total scores in the loss.

In the past, Mayfield has complimented Ehlinger.

He called him “A tough kid” in an October 2017 interview, per ESPN's Jake Trotter, saying he would have a “heck of a career.”

But, as things currently stand, there appears to be no love lost between the two.

Texas and Oklahoma will play each other at the Cotton Bowl on Oct. 12. Last season the Longhorns beat the Sooners during the regular season before OU got the best of the Horns in the Big 12 championship.
