Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield is dealing with an injury to his throwing hand, but that won't stop him from playing in his team's game against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.

“Mama didn’t raise a wuss,” Mayfield said when asked if he is confident he will be able to suit up in Week 14, according to Nate Ulrich of The Akron Beacon Journal.

Mayfield didn't throw in practice on Wednesday, but he said he will “try and go tomorrow for sure.”

The second-year pro sustained the injury during the second quarter of the Brown's loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers this past weekend, when he hit his hand on the facemask of Steelers linebacker Bud Dupree.

“Yeah, from everything they evaluated, yeah, just a nice contusion, bruise, whatever you want to call it,” Mayfield said.

Mayfield had a rough outing against Pittsburgh, completing just 18 of his 32 throws for 196 yards, a touchdown and an interception. It was just the latest lackluster performance in what has been a season full of them for Mayfield, as he has thrown for 2,917 yards, 15 touchdowns and 14 picks while completing 60 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 79.9 on the year.

This comes after a sparkling rookie campaign in which Mayfield set the single-season rookie record with 27 touchdown passes in just 14 games and 13 starts.

Cleveland had a very busy offseason, adding big names such as Odell Beckham Jr. and Kareem Hunt while also shoring up its defense, but it hasn't resulted in a whole lot of wins.

The Browns are just 5-7, and their chances of making the playoffs are fading.
