When the Cleveland Browns signed embattled running back Kareem Hunt earlier this offseason, they knew what they were getting into.

Hunt ended up getting suspended for eight games as a result of video footage that showed him assaulting a woman at a Cleveland hotel back in February 2018, an incident that obviously struck a cord with a lot of people.

The Kansas City Chiefs, Hunt's team at the team, immediately released Hunt once the video surfaced, cutting his 2018 campaign short after 11 games.

However, there are some who believe in second chances, and Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield is one of them.

“Just being around him, I think he's a great kid,” Baker said, according to TMZ Sports. “You know, mistakes happen. I can speak from personal experience.”

Of course, Mayfield is referring to an incident involving himself that occurred a year before Hunt's in which he tried to run from police.

Hunt, who played his collegiate football at the University of Toledo, was originally selected by the Chiefs in the third round (86th pick overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft.

He went on to play in all 16 games during his rookie campaign, racking up 1,327 yards and eight touchdowns while averaging 4.9 yards per carry. In addition, he hauled in 53 receptions for 455 yards and three scores en route to a Pro Bowl appearance.

Then, through 11 games in 2018, the 23-year-old totaled 824 yards and seven touchdowns while registering 4.6 yards per attempt. He also caught 26 passes for 328 yards while reaching the end zone seven times as a receiver.
