The Cleveland Browns are interested in former Virginia Cavaliers defensive back Juan Thornhill.

Thornhill posted this development on his Instagram account (via 247Sports.com's Josh Edwards) on March 30.

Thornhill's post featured several photos of his Pro Day on March 29. The pictures showed him working out in front of NFL scouts and coaches at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville.

Thornhill also tweeted a picture of himself during his Pro Day.

Eagles Wire's Andrew DiCecco describes how the coveted safety fared on that day.

As expected, safety Juan Thornhill was the main attraction. The six-foot, 206-pound safety is beginning to hear his name mentioned as a potential first-rounder, and for good reason.

The versatile defensive back opted to stand on his outstanding Combine numbers, but took part in the on-field drills. Thornhill looked smooth in and out of his breaks, adjusted well to the ball in the air and impressed with his innate sense of detail – perfecting the little nuances of each drill and running everything out.

Thornhill also told DiCecco he's “a ball hawk” who will make quarterbacks think twice about throwing his way.

I'm a ball hawk for sure. When the ball is in the air, I'm going to go get it. I'm going to make the quarterback pay if he's willing to throw it into my area. If he throws it in the corner's area, I'm still going to try to make that play as well. I had 13 career interceptions, so that explains a lot.

The Browns are trying to fortify their secondary in time for the 2019 NFL season. They dealt strong safety Jabrill Peppers to the New York Giants as part of the blockbuster trade for wide receiver Odell Beckham, Jr. For now, newly-acquired safety Eric Murray (from the Kansas City Chiefs) is Peppers' most viable replacement.

Cleveland then waived reserve safety Derrick Kindred several weeks later. For his part, Briean Boddy-Calhoun signed with the Houston Texans on March 15.

The Browns, who finished with a 7-8-1 record in 2018, have 10 picks in the upcoming NFL Draft from April 25 to 27. They will select 17th and 49th in the first and second rounds, respectively.

Hopefully, Juan Thornhill will be decked out in Dawg Pound gear once draft festivities conclude.
