One day after being released by the Green Bay Packers, former Pro Bowl defensive tackle Mike Daniels is on his first visit. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Daniels is visiting the Cleveland Browns.

There may be other visits on the horizon. But the fact that the Browns have first crack at Daniels is not surprising. Many people in the Cleveland front office were in Green Bay when Daniels was drafted.

Also, the Browns have been looking to upgrade at the  position. They pursued defensive tackle Gerald McCoy before he signed with the Carolina Panthers. Also, the word was that Daniels wanted to play for a contender.

The Browns are the favorite to win the AFC North.

Daniels is 30 and is still considered to be in his prime. It was a big surprise that the Packers cut him this week.

It is clear that Daniels will have a big market. There has been talk that the Kansas City Chiefs and the New England Patriots could be interested in Daniels as well. The Packers tried to trade for him, but those talks fell apart.

While it’s been a crazy week for Daniels, it seems like his future will be figured out sooner than later and it may be in Cleveland.
