Cleveland Browns rookie head coach Freddie Kitchens was asked about a sideline blow-up with star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. following the team's Week 16 loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.

Per ESPN's Jake Trotter on Twitter:

“I think it was something dealing with one of their guys — it wasn't the call or anything like that. I don't think there's a big deal there. It was in frustration on how [the Ravens were] treating him.”

The sideline incident between coach and player arrives on the same week that rumors have speculated the 27-year-old three-time Pro-Bowl wideout will be traded or that Beckham Jr. does not want to play for the Browns.

The explosive conversation between Beckham and Kitchens is particularly troubling since the Browns made Beckham the centerpiece of their past offseason, investing players and picks in the trade with the New York Giants last March for Jarvis Landry's ex-teammate from LSU and the former Offensive Rookie of the Year.

Cleveland shot down rumors that they wanted to trade Beckham, who has tallied 71 receptions for 944 yards and three touchdowns. after Sunday's home loss to the Baltimore (who in turn clinched the No. 1 seed in the AFC playoffs in the winning effort).

It has bene an all-around disappointing for both the offensively fearsome Beckham and challenging Browns team that has come short on a year with lofty expectations, including a postseason berth that would have snapped a drought dating back to 2002, when they lost in the Wild Card round.
