The Cleveland Browns are going all out this NFL offseason to build a legitimate Super Bowl title contender heading into the 2019 campaign. Their first big move was to acquire superstar wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. from the New York Giants and now they've turned their attention to upgrading the defense by courting four-time All-Pro, Gerald McCoy.

Cleveland was the first team to get a crack at signing McCoy after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers parted ways with the veteran defensive tackle earlier this week. Unfortunately, the team's visit with the 31-year-old came to an end without a deal agreed to, according to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com.

The Browns are already a force to be reckoned with offensively with the team led by Baker Mayfield, Jarvis Landry, Kareem Hunt, and Beckham. However, Cleveland has an opportunity to be just as intimidating on defense with the potential addition of McCoy to the likes of a defense led by Myles Garrett, Denzel Ward, Sheldon Richardson, Olivier Vernon, and rookie Greedy Williams.

Needless to say, the Browns are already fairly stacked on both sides of the football and the addition of McCoy would only make them that much more of a contender in the AFC next season. However, McCoy has no shortage of interested teams with the number said to be up to 10 now that he's officially a free agent and available to the highest bidder.

Along with a lot of interested teams, McCoy will get paid with speculation swirling that he might get $10 million a year on his next deal.
