Cleveland Browns star defensive end Myles Garrett hopes opposing quarterbacks are ready for endless pressure coming off the edge in 2021.

Garrett reacted to the Jadeveon Clowney signing on Thursday, saying Cleveland's defense could be ā€œscaryā€ with the two stars consistently harassing opposing signal-callers and making plays in the backfield.

The First-Team All-Pro said he is excited to team with Clowney to set the tone up front:

ā€œI know everyone else is looking forward to it, and so am I,ā€ Garrett said, per Tom Withers of The Associated Press.Ā ā€I know the guy is aggressive, really gets after it and he has a motor: keeps attacking, plays the run well and a good pass rusher.

ā€œHeā€™s an athletic specimen like someone I know on the Browns, so it will be fun.ā€

Garrett had a tremendous season in which he tallied 12.0 sacks, 18 quarterback hits, 10 tackles for a loss and four forced fumbles. He also ranked third among edge rushers in Pass Rush Win Rate, per ESPN.

Clowney did not have nearly as much success as one of the lone defensive playmakers as part of a weak Tennessee Titans front. The former No. 1 overall pick did not register a single sack in eight games.

However, Clowney is just one season removed from ranking seventh in Pass Rush Win Rate. His track record also suggests he fares much better when joined by another elite pass rusher, as evidence by some of the success he and J.J. Watt had in Houston with the Texans.

The Browns are clearly hungry to improve upon last year's playoff berth. They signed John Johnson III to plug a vital hole at safety and have now added tremendous upside with Clowney.

Garrett thinks the sum of the parts could make for an elite defense in Cleveland.
