Cleveland Browns rookie Baker Mayfield has set a single-season record for most touchdowns by a quarterback in his first year in the NFL.
Mayfield and company came up just short in suffering a 26-24 defeat to the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, which allowed John Harbaugh's team to clinch a spot in the playoffs while all but officially eliminating the Pittsburgh Steelers from contention.
However, even with the loss, Mayfield was able to break the league record by throwing his 27th touchdown of the season.

There was a lot of mixed reaction to Cleveland taking Mayfield with the top overall pick in the 2018 NFL draft, but it's clear at this point that it was the right move given how well the former Oklahoma star has played in his first year in the league.

So, even with another losing season, it's obvious that Mayfield is someone that this franchise can build around moving forward.
He will certainly be a huge draw for potential coaching candidates, as one of the toughest things to do is secure a franchise quarterback.
With Mayfield proving that he's already able of living up to that label, the new coaching staff should be able to put the Browns in a spot to take another step forward during the 2019 season.
