With the New York Jets trading now holding onto the No. 3 pick in the 2018 draft, the Cleveland Browns are more than likely going to take a quarterback with the No. 1 pick. If they happen to go with USC quarterback Sam Darnold, it sounds like he’d be more than happy to move to the Midwest.

He wouldn’t just be happy. He thinks it would be awesome and said as much following his Pro Day.

“It’d be awesome to go No. 1, just because I think what the Browns are doing is really good right now, and I think they have potential to be a really good team in the future,” Darnold told ESPN after his Pro Day, via Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

With the New York Giants and New York Jets expected to take quarterbacks with the No. 2 and 3 picks, the Browns have no choice but to take a quarterback No. 1. It’s one thing to go with your second choice if one guy doesn’t stand out from the other. But your third choice?

No way.

So, as expected, the Brown are doing their due diligence on the top QB prospects in the draft—which, of course, includes Darnold. Browns owner Jimmy Haslam, General Manager John Dorsey, head coach Hue Jackson, offensive coordinator Todd Haley and quarterbacks coach Ken Zampese had dinner with Darnold Tuesday night.

They all attended his Pro Day workout on Wednesday.

If he does end up going to the Browns with the first pick, hopefully, he’ll work out better than the last guy that said he was excited to go there (Johnny Manziel).
