It’s no secret that Boston Bruins forward Jake DeBrusk wants out of Beantown via a trade, and that stance hasn’t changed, according to Pierre LeBrun of The Athletic. In an appearance on TSN’s Insider Trading, LeBrun reported that is still adamant about getting traded.

“There has not been a change of heart. The trade demand remains in place for Jake DeBrusk to hopefully in his case get a trade out of Boston by the March 21st trade deadline.”

DeBrusk and his agent Rick Valette, are even willing to go an extra mile if it would expedite a trade.

“He[Valette] has informed teams that they're willing to work on an extension to help facilitate a deal because a lot of teams are concerned about that $4.4 million qualifying offer to retain his rights this summer. Maybe an extension at a cheaper price and everyone goes home happy.”

DeBrusk had an underwhelming 2021 NHL season in which he posted just five goals and nine assists in 41 games and also sputtered in that year’s playoffs with just two goals and an assist in 10 games.

That fanned the flames of the rumors about a potential DeBrusk trade, though the needle remains unchanged on that front. The 25-year-old DeBrusk is having yet another down season, but he’s been gotten hotter of late, with seven goals in six games, which could help drive up the Bruins’ asking price in a potential negotiation for a DeBrusk trade.
