Antonio Brown on Wednesday finally explained his side of the story by releasing a lengthy statement on the controversial incident that virtually ended his stint with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Brown made pretty scathing allegations, particularly on the Buccaneers covering up his ankle injury. He particularly singled out coach Bruce Arians, who Brown basically said lied on national TV.

But even before his much-awaited statement, Brown also took to Instagram to seemingly defend himself, reposting a picture of him and rapper Fabolous with the caption: “What we do is not who we are.”

While he has been apologetic after exiting in the middle of the Buccaneers' tiff against the New York Jets last Sunday, it's clear that Brown stands by his decision—controversy be damned. The four-time All-Pro First Team wide receiver has had his fair share of issues, but he believes those don't totally define him.

While some don't agree with the latest actions of the 33-year-old Brown, he has gotten strong support from his colleagues, including Buccaneers star Tom Brady, who said he is still behind his embattled teammate and urged people for deeper understanding.

The entire Brown brouhaha could pose as a distraction to the title defense of the Buccaneers with the NFL Playoffs just around the corner, but fans sure hope that it wouldn't. But with Brown's eyebrow-raising statement, it's quite hard to tell.
