On Tuesday, Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Chris Godwin appeared on the Pat McAfee Show, where he expressed his feelings towards the NFL free agency. He made it clear that money is not the deciding factor, however, it does play a role in his decision.

After just winning a Super Bowl, one would think Godwin wants to remain with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and potentially win another one. He seems to be taking a smart approach, however, as Godwin is thinking more about his own happiness vs some extra cash. He also says, “The goal obviously is to get paid, right? But, at the same time, I’m not stupid. I’m not going to put myself in a situation where I’m going to be miserable for some years to come just for a couple of extra dollars. I think my happiness is paramount in all of this and part of that happiness is winning.”

At the end of the day, it's speculated that Godwin will end up continuing his career with Tampa Bay. It's hard to imagine the Bucs letting go of a talented receiver like Godwin. Bringing him back is essential to this team, especially since they'll be chasing a second Super Bowl win come next year.

Godwin is a fantastic receiver who struggled with injuries last season. He finished with 840 receiving yards and seven touchdowns and his 77.4% catch percentage made him one of Tom Brady's favorite targets to throw to as well.

Chris Godwin is one of the best receivers available in the free agency pool this year. There will be plenty of NFL franchises making him offers if the Bucs don't re-sign, or franchise tag him first.
