The Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeated the Indianapolis Colts in Week 14. Their 38-34 victory moved them to 6-7 on the season.

In classic Jameis Winston fashion, the quarterback had big numbers, both positive and negative ones.

Winston went 33-for-45 for 456 yards and four touchdowns, but three interceptions as well. He also had six carries for five more yards and another touchdown.

The good outweighed the bad for Winston and the Buccaneers in Week 14 though. That is, it did until he got injured. Greg Auman covers Tampa Bay for the Athletic. He gave an update on the injury.

Auman went on to correct himself and say that the injury is more of a thumb issue.

Winston is having an odd year. His 4,115 yards are second-most in the NFL, just seven yards behind Dak Prescott (4,122). He's also right near the top with 26 touchdown passes.

However, Winston also leads the NFL by a wide-margin with 23 interceptions. Add on his 12 fumbles and there is a very, very serious turnover problem.

So the quarterback has given the Buccaneers a lot of positives in 2019. He's also given them a ton of negatives.

With that in mind, they were probably hoping to get to see how he finished out the year. Hoping that it could give them a better picture of the quarterback. With Winston set to enter free agency next year, Tampa Bay would want as much time as possible to make a decision on him.

That also means the last few games were an audition for Winston. Not just for the Buccaneers but for every team in the NFL that might want a quarterback. Could he start to create a positive gap between his good plays and his bad ones?

This injury might not prevent Winston from getting an opportunity to do that. It might stop him from getting the opportunity to do so at 100% though.
