The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were hoping to get some key players back ahead of their NFC Divisional Round matchup with the Los Angeles Rams. Offensive linemen Tristan Wirfs and Ryan Jensen both sustained injuries in the Wild Card bout against the Philadelphia Eagles. The Bucs were hopeful that they'd be able to get both players back in time for Sunday's clash with the Rams, but per the team's latest injury report, that won't be the case. According to Ian Rapoport, the Buccaneers have activated Jensen for Sunday's game, but unfortunately, Wirfs has been ruled out.

Wirf's absence will be a huge loss for the Buccaneers. The former first-round pick has been one of their most important pass protectors this season, ensuring Tom Brady has plenty of time in the pocket to find his wide receivers. Not having him available could have a significant impact on the team's aerial attack, as Rams defenders, including Aaron Donald, will have an easier time getting after the 44-year-old Brady.

The Rams caused a nightmare for Kyler Murray and the Arizona Cardinals in the Wild Card and will look to exploit Wirfs' absence against the Buccaneers. While the return of Jensen is a big boost for the Bucs, they will certainly feel the loss of Wirfs when pitted against the formidable front line of the Rams.

The 22-year-old Wirfs was the Buccaneers' first-round pick (13th overall) in the 2020 NFL Draft, and has started all 33 regular-season games at right tackle since being drafted. Unfortunately, the high ankle sprain he sustained against the Eagles will hold him out for Sunday's game, a key loss for the Bucs.
