With the Tampa Bay Buccaneers no longer in contention for the Super Bowl, all eyes have turned to Tom Brady as the NFL world awaits his decision regarding his potential retirement. Initial reports claimed that Brady was set to call it a career, though it's now been revealed that those announcements may have been premature. Amid all the conflicting reports regarding his future, Brady has maintained that he's still undecided and that anything being reported about his retirement is purely hearsay. On Monday, the Buccaneers QB doubled down on that stance during an appearance on Mad Dog Sports Radio with Chris Russo. Via Adam Schefter, Brady insisted that the process remains “day to day.”

Various reports, including one from Schefter himself, circulated over the weekend alleging that Brady had told his inner circle that he was going to retire. However, the 44-year-old's camp has since denied those reports, though they have not suggested either way whether Brady will suit up in 2022 or not.

While Brady acknowledges the “era of information” we're currently living in, which resulted in the premature reports about his retirement, the veteran QB insisted that no decision has been made. Family is believed to be the most impactful factor weighing on Brady's impending decision, as he made clear in 2021 that he still is more than capable of producing at the highest of levels on the field.

Of course, Brady's potential retirement would have a significant impact on the Buccaneers' offseason plans, as well as the plans of some players who were considering potentially signing for Tampa in order to join forces with TB12. While the fanbase continues to wait with bated breath, Brady will take as much time as he needs before making the life-changing decision.
