The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are have been the talk of the 2022 NFL Offseason this week. On Sunday, legendary quarterback Tom Brady announced his return to the league after only 40 days in retirement. News broke Wednesday morning that Breshad Perriman agreed to a one-deal contract with the team.

A few hours later, news got out that the Buccaneers agreed to restructured contracts with both tight end Cam Brate and linebacker Shaq Barrett. The Athletic's Greg Auman tweeted the details of the agreements Wednesday afternoon.

The move clears roughly $3 million in cap space for the Buccaneers. Meanwhile, Barrett's deal created nearly $10 million in cap space for Tampa Bay. As Auman noted, the team is working towards getting under the salary cap by 4 p.m.

4 p.m. EST marks the beginning of the 2022 League Year. It also marks the beginning of the trading period after the expiration of all 2021 contracts.

Both Brate and Barrett will continue their careers with the Buccaneers.

Brate is entering his eighth season. Last year, he recorded 30 receptions for 245 yards and four touchdowns in the regular season. The tight end also had four receptions for a total of 38 yards in the Buccaneers' two postseason games.

Meanwhile, Barrett is heading into his ninth season in the NFL and his fourth season in Tampa Bay. He recorded 51 tackles, 10 sacks, and three forced fumbles in the 2021-2022 regular season and three tackles and one pass deflection in the postseason.
