Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Tom Brady had nothing but the best of words for teammate Mike Evans after the WR just made history in Week 11. On Monday night against the New York Giants, Evans scored his 72nd career touchdown, breaking the all-time Bucs record for touchdowns and surpassing Mike Alstott's previous record of 71.
The 28-year old caught a 5-yard pass from his QB midway through the third quarter which ultimately put him in the Bucs' record book and Brady couldn't help but praise Evans for such an amazing accomplishment.
“He's amazing in every way,” Brady said after Evans' historic evening (via Buccaneers). “As a player, teammate, friend, leader, he's just awesome. I love being out there with him, love playing with him. He really sets the tone for that group and he had a great night,”
It was a historic night for the QB too as Brady himself also made league history with his 19th season of surpassing 3,000 passing yards – the most ever seasons of any player in NFL history.
More importantly for Brady and Evans, the dynamic duo's impressive form on Monday night helped Tampa Bay keep their home record flawless with a 5-0 record in the Raymond James Stadium. Their dominant 30-10 win also helps the defending champions bounce back from two tough back-to-back losses against the New Orleans Saints and the Washington Football Team, bringing them back to the top of the NFC South Division with a 7-3 record after 11 weeks.
