The Tampa Bay Buccaneers got one of the biggest prizes of free agency, signing future Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady.
However, there is still a lot of time left, meaning more moves could be done.
There's another massive name out there that could be linked to the team.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, that name is Antonio Brown, as Brady himself is hoping they can bring him in. It looks like that is unlikely though, as head coach Bruce Arians isn't too keen on the idea.
Brown is one of the best wide receivers the NFL has had over the last few seasons. However, he's also had a number of issues off the field.
That caused him to play in just one game in 2019, and that was with the New England Patriots, with Brady as his quarterback. In that game, Brown caught four passes for 56 yards and one touchdown. He was released due to more off-field issues though. It appears that one game was more than enough for Brady to be impressed however. And he now wants Brown to join him in Tampa Bay.
Arians has also had some experience with Brown though. And although Brady is the superstar that they just brought in, Arians likely gets the final say.
Brown is elite. He had six straight 100-plus reception, 1,250-plus yard seasons before 2019. That's insane.
However, the Buccaneers are already extremely talented at the wide receiver position.
Mike Evans is one of the best mismatches in football, and it should be fun to see him paired with Brady. Meanwhile, Chris Godwin has quickly turned himself into one of the most dangerous receivers in the NFL.
Arians might not want the drama of trying to get all three their targets, especially with Brown's past problems of stirring drama in locker rooms. Due to that, he might feel there's far too much risk of bringing him on.
All that being said, nothing is set in stone. If Brady works hard enough, he might just convince the organization to reconsider their position on Brown. So keep your eyes and ears open.
