Greece and Montenegro figured in a tightly-contested affair as they prepare for EuroBasket 2017. The Greeks won the exhibition game, 83-81.

Captain of the winning team Giannis Antetokounmpo displayed his usual all-around force, registering 20 points on 10-of-14 shooting to go along with nine rebounds and three assists.

While those numbers would slightly pale in comparison to his NBA averages last season, it’s important to note that in the international game, a stat line such as that means a huge deal already as FIBA rules offer a number of significant differences when compared to the NBA — the 10-minute quarters being one of those.

However, outside of the boxscore, Antetokounmpo’s impact was absolutely felt in one play that featured a hapless Montenegrin opponent finding himself on the bitter end of a vicious chase-down block from the Milwaukee Bucks All-Star.

EuroBasket has always been an intense competition with the immense pride involved among all teams along with the talent disparity being not that far between competing countries. All these will make for another round of quality basketball from Europe's best starting on August 31st and ending on September 17th.
