George Karl, who coached the Milwaukee Bucks from the late 90s to the early 2000s, credited the social justice efforts of the current players for the voting results in Wisconsin.

Election forecasts reveal that Democratic Party candidate Joe Biden is expected to win in the state of Wisconson, and Karl acknowledged the Bucks' protests in the bubble for this turnout. He also gave the young voters a shoutout.

To recall, the Bucks boycotted Game 5 of their first-round playoff duel with the Orlando Magic. This was after the police shooting of Jacob Blake in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Speaking on the boycott, George Hill expressed his regret about the whole NBA restart in Orlando amid the tense socio-political climate.

“Coming here just took all the focal points off what the issues are,” the Bucks guard said, per Jeff Zillgitt of USA Today. “But we’re here. It is what it is. We can’t do anything from right here. But definitely when it’s all settled, some things need to be done.”

In fact, several NBA players such as Dwight Howard of the Los Angeles Lakers and Kyrie Irving of the Brooklyn Nets were against the idea of the bubble. According to them, basketball might serve as a distraction from the issues hounding the US.

The NBA responded by allowing its players to wear pre-approved statement phrases on their jerseys. “Black Lives Matter”—the movement and battle cry of protestors fighting against racism—was on the basketball courts for the entirety of the bubble games.
