Milwaukee Bucks star and reigning MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo — never one to duke it out in a battle of egos — is perfectly fine with Joel Embiid's recent claim that he is the best basketball player today.

The Philadelphia 76ers star center was feeling himself after the Sixers defeated the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday night. Embiid dominated Brooklyn, scoring 39 points to go along with 16 rebounds and five blocked shots. He was so impressed with himself that, after the game, he proclaimed himself the best player in the world.

Antetokounmpo, who faced Embiid and the Sixers on Saturday, didn't take the bait of reporters asking about Embiid's claim. Instead, the Bucks star showed love and respect for the Cameroonian big man.

“Every NBA player should feel like he’s the best player,” Antetokounmpo said, per Steve Aschburner of NBA.com. “Who am I to tell him he’s not the best player in the world? Who are we to tell him he’s not the best player in the world? Everybody should feel that way.

“But at the end of the day, you’ve got to go on the court and – if you feel that way – you’ve got to show it.”

Joel Embiid might have all the brashness and arrogance of a Floyd Mayweather on the mic, but it was Giannis Antetokounmpo who dominated the Sixers on Saturday.

Giannis scored 31 points on 12-of-17 shooting, adding 17 boards and eight assists. It was another vintage performance for the “Greek Freak” who has every right to call himself the best in the game.

Antetokounmpo is averaging 30.0 points, 13.6 rebounds and 5.8 assists while also racking up over one steal and block apiece. He is currently on pace for the highest single-season player efficiency rating (PER) in NBA history, and he has anchored a Bucks team that has the best record in the league.

Nonetheless, do not expect Giannis to brag about himself. He will leave that for other superstars.
