Milwaukee Bucks superstar swingman Giannis Antetokounmpo realized this season that it “takes 15 people to be a championship team.”

In years past, Antetokounmpo thought he could do everything for the Bucks and single-handedly turn the franchise around. Milwaukee had the best record in the NBA this season and is two games away from reaching the NBA Finals.

The Bucks are having success because Antetokounmpo is playing like an MVP and the players around him are playing their roles to a T.

“Did I see it at the beginning of the year? Did I see this a few years ago? Previous years, I always wanted to be a great player in this league and make this team a championship contender, but you don't realize how much it takes to get there,” Giannis told Vincent Goodwill of Yahoo Sports.

“Even now, we're up 2-0, we're not there yet. We have to make sure we close out games, Game 3, Game 4, whatever it takes to get to the Finals. What I've realized, it takes 15 people to be a championship team. Not just one guy.”

The Bucks have one of the deepest teams in the league. Their starting lineup of Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton, Eric Bledsoe, Brook Lopez and Nikola Mirotic is as good as any starting five in the NBA.

The team's bench is equally good. Malcolm Brogdon, George Hill, Ersan Ilyasova and Pat Connaughton always come into the game and bring energy.

The Bucks management, led by general manager Jon Horst, has done a great job of building the team around Giannis.
