Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo has been described as an unconventional star, one that deflects the shine, but can't help being the flaming candle in the room.

This season's top MVP candidate put it very simply:

“I don't like being Hollywood,” said Antetokounmpo, according to ESPN's Malika Andrews. “I don't like all this extra drama. I am just going to try to be me.”

While the rest of the NBA engages in fashion wars, often letting shoe and tie choice play a part in their day-to-day preparation, Antetokounmpo has taken a distraction-free approach, much like Barack Obama and Steve Jobs did before him, choosing to wear a Nike Tech Fleece sweatsuit to every game instead of jostling for attention.

“I just want to win,” said Antetokounmpo. “All that other stuff takes away from the game, and you just spend extra energy on looking good for five seconds. I don't care about that. I just want to look good on the court. Get the win and go back home and lay on my couch and just watch game film. That's it.”

The Greek Freak has traded pre-game compliments for Most Valuable Player consideration, posting a monster line of 27 points, 12.5 rebounds, 5.9 assists, 1.3 steals, and 1.5 blocks per game — a Swiss army knife of pure terror for opposing NBA teams.

Antetokounmpo has put aside the flair and replaced it with ruthless effectiveness and sheer destruction on the court, a distraction-free approach that could very well land him some hardware at season's end.
