The 2020-21 NBA season will start on Dec. 22 and Milwaukee Bucks superstar swingman Giannis Antetokounmpo can't wait for that date to arrive.

The reigning MVP and Defensive Player of the Year took to Twitter to express his excitement level about the 2020-21 campaign almost being here.

When the 2020 free agency period starts, the Bucks will offer Giannis Antetokounmpo the supermax extension. If the Greek Freak declines the extension, he'll become an unrestricted free agent in the offseason of 2021.

In 2019-20, Antetokounmpo averaged 29.5 points, 13.6 rebounds and 5.6 assists per game while shooting 55.3 percent from the field, 30.4 percent from beyond the arc and 63.3 percent from the free-throw line. He guided the Bucks to the best record in the NBA for the second straight season and made NBA history by winning MVP and DPOY in the same campaign.

However, Antetokounmpo and the Bucks fell to the Miami Heat in the second round of the 2020 playoffs in five games. Giannis suffered an ankle injury and wasn't able to play in Game 5.

Everyone in the NBA is waiting to see what Antetokounmpo is going to do when the Bucks offer him the supermax extension. Many pundits believe Milwaukee should trade Giannis if he doesn't sign it so they don't risk losing him in 2021 without getting anything in return.

Milwaukee's front office is said to be interested in upgrading the roster around Antetokounmpo, which could help persuade the All-Star to stay.
