Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo's first line of signature shoes have recently been introduced to the public, and when asked about his inspiration in creating the sneakers' design, picking the colors, etc., the reigning MVP says it's all about his family.

In an interview with Slam Online's Max Resetar, the Bucks forward said that his family's input was significant in the creation of his signature shoe.

“It’s all about family with me, man. Whatever I do, I wanted them to be as involved as possible. I wanted them to see what I go through. It’s not just my shoe—it’s my family’s shoe, so I wanted to hear their opinion. I’m so happy that they had so much input in the shoe, the colors, the design.”

Antetokounmpo said that his signature shoe is also a tribute to his father Charles, who passed away two years ago. Giannis wants to remember him every single time he wears these shoes, especially the “Rose” colorway.

“At the end of the day, that’s all you leave behind is your legacy for your kids. Your legacy is what you are about and you know my father passed away two years ago and he’s never going to be forgotten. We’ll be here, five kids, to remind people that we are his legacy and he is always going to be remembered and honored.

“This is about my dad. In memory of my dad. It’s got his favorite colors.” He shakes his head a few times. “Um…I’m not going to get emotional, but…I’m just going to keep it short. This just goes to my dad.”

From his early days as a street vendor in Greece to becoming an NBA superstar, Antetokounmpo has always carried the memories of his father with him. Moreover, he continues to be motivated by his family, and once he decides to call it a career, he wants to make sure that they're already financially stable and well-provided.

That's the reigning MVP for you, folks!
