The Milwaukee Bucks are off to a subpar start after 10 games, losing to the Washington Wizards on Sunday night to fall to 4-6. Giannis Antetokounmpo and company have been hobbled by injuries, leaving the team lacking in firepower.

Giannis once again had a monster effort for the Bucks, tallying 29 points, 18 rebounds, five assists, three steals, and a block, but playing without key guys Khris Middleton, Brook Lopez, and Donte DiVincenzo has taken its toll.

After their loss to the Wizards, Bucks coach Mike Budenholzer revealed that Giannis, who played a season-high 39 minutes, said he wants to stay on the floor more (via ESPN).

“Giannis was in that mindset that he wanted to play a lot. It’s on me to keep him in a good place. I love his spirit tonight.”

Despite his limited minutes, Giannis has been churning out huge numbers. So giving him more playing time will only increase his production, which should be a problem for the opposing teams.

While the two-time MVP can't win a game by his lonesome, getting additional burn time will surely up the Bucks' chances of winning. He's been trying to hold the fort as his teammates recuperate from various injuries, but as Budenholzer said, he also needs to find a way not to overuse Giannis and avoid a setback of his own.

Giannis Antetokounmpo and the depleted Bucks will look to get back to the win column against the surging Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday.
