Khris Middleton and the Milwaukee Bucks had the best record in the NBA prior to play being suspended due to COVID-19.

So naturally, Middleton is hoping the 2019-20 season finishes up “some way, somehow” since the Bucks are one of the favorites to win the 2020 title:

“It's still about every other day just to stay in shape, but not kill myself because we don't know how long this thing is going to last,” Khris Middleton told Eric Woodyard of ESPN.

“I hope we get to get back on that court to finish the season some way, somehow, but with everything the NBA is saying, they're trying to do everything possible to make sure this season doesn't go to waste for anybody.”

Before the season got suspended, Middleton was averaging 21.1 points, 6.2 rebounds and 4.1 assists for the Bucks in 55 games. The two-time All-Star was shooting 49.9 percent from the field, 41.8 percent from beyond the arc and 90.8 percent from the free-throw line.

The Bucks had an incredible record of 53-12 before the season was suspended due to Utah Jazz big man Rudy Gobert's positive coronavirus test.

Last summer, Milwaukee re-signed Middleton to a lucrative five-year, $177.5 million contract. Some pundits at the time of the deal said the Bucks were overpaying to keep Middleton in Milwaukee as Giannis Antetokounmpo's partner in crime.

However, Middleton has silenced all of those critics this season. He was two one-thousandths of a point away on his overall field goal percentage from joining the elusive 50/40/90 club.

The only players to shoot 50/40/90 while averaging better than 20 points in NBA history are Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Dirk Nowitzki and Larry Bird, who did it twice, per ESPN.
