Milwaukee Bucks guard Malcolm Brogdon was recently diagnosed with a “minor plantar fascia tear in his right foot,” according to a weekend report from Adrian Wojnarowski and Malika Andrews of ESPN. Although Brogdon is now expected to miss at least the next six to eight weeks due to the aforementioned setback, the Bucks' up-and-comer continues to stress that this injury is indeed “minor.”

It is also worth noting that Brogdon is currently sporting both a walking boot on his right foot and crutches.

“There is optimism that Brogdon could return closer to the six-week mark, sources said, but that still would leave the Bucks without their starter until the postseason,” reads the ESPN report.

Brogdon, who has played and started in 64 regular season games for the Bucks this season, has already missed a few games along the way due to the lingering plantar fasciitis. In Brogdon's repeated absence, Bucks swingman Tony Snell is typically called upon to fill the void on the perimeter.

However, this is no easy hole to fill as Brogdon has helped the Bucks to the best record in the Eastern Conference. Milwaukee entered Sunday afternoon's matchup against the Philadelphia 76ers sporting an impressive 52-17 record.

It is also worth noting that Brogdon is currently averaging a single-season career-best 15.6 points per game along with averages of 4.5 rebounds and 3.2 assists across 28.6 minutes per outing in 2018-19. He is also shooting 50.5 percent from the field, 42.6 percent from beyond the three-point line and 92.8 percent from the free-throw line. If those numbers were to hold, it would put him in line to become only the eighth player in NBA history to record a 50-40-90 season.
