The Milwaukee Bucks took a huge haymaker from the Phoenix Suns in Game 1 of the NBA Finals. But it wasn't all bad, especially considering what Bucks fans saw from franchise player Giannis Antetokounmpo.
The Bucks fell behind by double digits early in the second half and never really recovered. A lot of things went wrong for Milwaukee, but Giannis Antetokounmpo was not one of them. Considering he was a true game-time decision due to his knee injury, the fact that he was even out there was already impressive.

All of the other Bucks starters were huge net-negatives in terms of on-court plus/minus, with Khris Middleton's -11 mark rating as the best of the least. But Giannis managed to be the lone bright spot, finding a way to be a +1 despite his team losing by 13 points. That's one massive disparity when Giannis was on and off the court.
If Giannis Antetokounmpo could play all 48 minutes, the Bucks would definitely do it. But easing him in after hyperextending his knee is crucial in making sure he doesn't suffer a more serious injury. The Milwaukee Bucks may be staring at an early 0-1 hole against the Suns, but this NBA Finals is far from over.
