Patrick Beverley's recent incident with an Indiana Pacers fan is reportedly being investigated by local police, per Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium.

Indianapolis Police is investigating the incident between Patrick Beverley and a fan during Game 6 of Bucks-Pacers series; detectives confirm to me and @MikeVorkunov they are working with Gainbridge Fieldhouse to review video footage and plan to speak with the parties involved,” Charania wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

Beverley threw a basketball at a fan after exchanging words during the Milwaukee Bucks-Indiana Pacers playoff series.

The incident drew no shortage of backlash from around the sports world. Beverley addressed his actions during the latest episode of his podcast.

“Unfortunate situation that should have never happened,” Beverley said, via the Pat Bev Pod. “What I did was bad and that should have never happened. I have to be better and I will be better. That should have never happened. Regardless of what was said, that should have never happened. Simple as that.”

Beverley added that the fan said more than what was originally reported. The aforementioned investigation will attempt to not only take an in-depth look at Patrick Beverley's actions, but it will also try to gather everything that was said between Beverley and the fan.

Beverley is known as a player who is not afraid to frustrate opponents. He is the kind of player that is a great teammate, but often rubs opponents the wrong way.

However, he's been involved in multiple negative headlines over the past couple of weeks.

The Bucks guard previously told a reporter that he would not answer any of her questions because she was not subscribed to his podcast. He told her that she “can't interview” him since she was not subscribed.

He then pushed the microphone she was holding away and told her to leave the media circle. Again, the incident drew nothing but negative reactions from the sports world.

Disrespecting a reporter for not subscribing to a podcast was already an unfortunate situation. Beverley's decision to throw a basketball at a fan only made matters worse.

Overall, Beverley has enjoyed a decent NBA career. He has played in the NBA since 2012 and is a pesky guard. Beverley loves to play the game hard and frustrate opponents. He is a quality defender.

However, his latest actions have provided cause for concern. Disrespecting reporters and having potentially dangerous altercations with fans may lead to teams being hesitant to sign the veteran.

He is set to enter free agency this offseason. One would imagine that he will still receive a contract given his veteran prowess and defensive intensity. However, these latest incidents will give potential suitors something to think about.

We will continue to monitor and provide updates on the current Patrick Beverley situation amid the on-going investigation as updates are made available.
