Wesley Matthews wants the Milwaukee Bucks to not be complacent amid their league-leading record and overall dominance in the young 2019-20 season.

Per Eric Woodyard of ESPN, the veteran guard wants his team to maintain their ‘hunter mentality.'

“Even though we're No. 1 in the East right now, we're not the defending champs and that's what we want to get to. We want to be able to call ourselves that and in order to do that we've always gotta have that hunter mentality.”

The Bucks are currently on a 15-game winning streak and sport a 21-3 record. So far, it's been a great follow up to their 60-win season last year. It ended in disappointment as they were eliminated in six games by the eventual champions, the Toronto Raptors.

Now, the Mike Budenholzer-coached squad is motivated more than ever to come up with another impressive regular season campaign. Giannis Antetokounmpo continues to prove to everyone that he's the league MVP and is in the running for another one.

Matthews, for his part, has been effective in his role as a 3-point gunner which allows the likes of Antetokounmpo and Eric Bledsoe to easily drive to the hoop. As a veteran, his message to the team comes at a perfect time. He's been in the NBA long enough to know that in order to win that elusive title, a team should be hungry all season long.
