Bobby Portis is one of the many exciting young players on the Chicago Bulls. The 23-year-old is coming off a career year and is looking to build off this success. Portis is confident heading into this season and thinks he can be a strong candidate for Sixth Man of the Year.

Portis showed flashes of brilliance last season, most notably in a 38-point performance against the Sixers. Portis can score, he rebounds well, and he has a rare intensity on the court. As long as he's not punching out one of his teammates, Portis is a big-time player for Chicago.

Portis' impending free agency adds an interesting wrinkle to his season. If he does live up to his own expectations and win the Sixth Man of the Year award, it could affect his restricted free agency next summer. So far, the talks between the two sides have been good, but they must reach a deal by Monday's deadline or Portis will hit restricted free agency.

Not many expect the Bulls to compete for a playoff spot this season, but Portis has predicted playoffs. He has looked terrific thus far in preseason and has even taken over as a starter with Jabari Parker struggling, though he'll definitely return to the bench when Lauri Markkanen return from an elbow injury.
