The Chicago Bulls must really like David Nwaba.

The undrafted guard out of Cal Poly – San Luis Obispo just inked a guaranteed contract from the Bulls, who recently decided to keep him on for the remainder of the season, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Nwaba has played 28 games for the Balls so far this season, and is averaging 7.6 points and 4.7 rebounds in 23 minutes per game, per Basketball Reference. He had a minor injury earlier in the season, and a few games.

Nwaba has impressed on the basketball floor, recording several games in which he scored in double figures. In a game earlier in December, he was a plus-30 while he was on the floor.

Nwaba is only in his second year in the NBA. He played in the G League last season for the South Bay Lakers before getting an opportunity to sign with Los Angeles. He played 24 games for the Lakers, scoring 19 points in an early-April game.

With several teams making decisions on whether to fully guarantee contracts before the NBA's deadline, it's telling that the Bulls decided to take a chance on Nwaba. He will be with the team down the stretch of the season and potentially cement himself into the rotation for years to come.

However, it's also possible that Nwaba can use the opportunity to showcase his talents to the entire league in hopes of going to a better situation. He will become a restricted free agent this summer, and if he plays well enough, another team could sign him to a hefty offer sheet.

Whether the Bulls will match it at that point remains to be seen.
