The Chicago Bulls have been cruising for most of this NBA season. Entering Wednesday night's game against the Brooklyn Nets, they sat atop the Eastern Conference at 27-11. They have also won 10 of their last 11 games. But Wednesday is a crucial matchup as the Nets are right on their heels at 25-14.

During the 1st quarter, small forward Derrick Jones Jr. suffered an apparent leg injury. He had to be helped off of the court.

Jones Jr. is in his fifth season in the NBA out of UNLV. This is his first season with the Bulls after spending time with the Phoenix Suns, Miami Heat and most recently the Portland Trail Blazers.

Jones Jr. has done an admirable job as a role player for Chicago, averaging a little under seven points and four rebounds per game. He was actually in the starting lineup Wednesday night.

In his place, forward Alfonzo McKinnie, forward Troy Brown Jr. and guard Coby White look to get increased minutes.

The Bulls are looking to create a little more separation between themselves and the Nets with a win Wednesday. The game is in Chicago, so Nets' superstar point guard Kyrie Irving is in action. Thus far, the Bulls have done a great job keeping Irving in check. As of this writing, he has seven points on 3-8 shooting.

That's a far cry from his first two games. Kyrie Irving dropped 22 points exactly in each of his two games thus far.

DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine of course lead the way for the Bulls.
