Derrick Rose hasn't closed the door on playing for the Chicago Bulls again.

The Detroit Pistons are in Chicago to face the Bulls on Friday. While speaking to the Chicago media, Rose talked about possibly playing for the Bulls again:

“It’s not hard for me to think about that,” Rose said, via the Chicago Tribune. “But it’s not up to me to determine that. It’s up to the front office and Jerry (Reinsdorf). I mean, I’m from here, so who wouldn’t want their jersey up with Mike (Jordan) and everyone up there.”

Rose is on a two-year deal with the Pistons, so he'll become an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2021.

With the way things ended with Rose and the Bulls, it's hard to see the former MVP playing in his hometown again. After becoming the youngest MVP in NBA history in 2011, Rose underwent three knee surgeries with the Bulls. He was eventually traded to the New York Knicks in the offseason of 2016.

Bulls fans have seemed to gravitate toward Rose again. He received MVP chants from the United Crowd last season when the Minnesota Timberwolves came to town. Rose figures to get loud cheers again on Friday when he enters the game.
