On Sunday, the Chicago Bulls received some concerning news when they learned that Zach LaVine will go to Los Angeles to visit a specialist about his knee issue. LaVine has been suffering from knee stiffness, according to sources, but still intends to participate in the All-Star Game.

This isn't great news for the Bulls, who have dealt with a slew of injuries this season and are still without Lonzo Ball, Alex Caruso, or Patrick Williams on the floor. Lonzo Ball and Alex Caruso are expected to return in the next month, but there is still no word on Patrick Williams' status, so another injury for this Bulls squad is not ideal.

It's unclear why LaVine would participate in the All-Star Game, given that any injury to their star player would obliterate their hopes of winning a championship this season. It's reasonable that he wants to participate in the All-Star Game because it's such a prestigious achievement, but he must know that his team needs him more than he needs All-Star Weekend.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN,

“Chicago Bulls All-Star guard Zach LaVine will travel to Los Angeles to see a specialist for his left knee early this week, sources tell ESPN. LaVine has been dealing with recurring discomfort and will get further evaluation. He’s still planning to participate in All-Star Weekend.”

The Bulls have been one of the top teams in basketball this season, and despite some doubts about their ability to win a championship, they are currently the Eastern Conference's second seed with a 36-21 record.
