ESPN's Twitter account tried to wish Zach LaVine a happy 25th birthday by sharing a highlight reel of LaVine's spectacular 2016 Slam Dunk Contest performance. The Chicago Bulls wing wasn't exactly feeling the love:

LaVine is clearly uninterested in being pigeonholed as a dunker, evidenced by the fact that he chose to take part in the 3-Point Contest during recent All-Star Weekend festivities in Chicago.

LaVine admitted that he would have reluctantly participated in the Dunk Contest had he earned his first All-Star nod:

“If I would’ve made it, I would’ve did it for y’all, man. But I just don’t — I don’t got it in me. If I would have made it, I would’ve made it even then. It’s not like I really wanted to. I would have just put on for my city. You know it’s in Chicago, and I don’t need a lot to prove about the Dunk Contest.”

LaVine also won the 2015 Slam Dunk Contest, but his reaction to ESPN's well-intentioned tweet would seem to reaffirm his indifference towards the contest in the future.

For the season, LaVine is putting up a career-high 25.5 points per game while hoisting 20 shots per game. The Bulls are 11th in the East at 21-43. As one of his commenters pointed out, LaVine is one of three players in history to make 13 3-pointers in a game, and he's a 37.5 percent 3-point shooter for his career.
