Zach LaVine and the Chicago Bulls are enduring a brutal season. The young squad is 10-30 and they've had a hard time stringing wins together. LaVine believes that the Bulls need to take a more physical approach to the game.

“I think overall we need to be tougher, if that's sending a message and committing a foul earlier on the game or setting the tone physically,” LaVine told Kelly Crull of NBC Sports Chicago. “Not just playing your way into the game, but starting it off like that. I think I got to do a better job of that as well.”

The Bulls are struggling this year but LaVine is having his best year yet, averaging 23.6 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game.

LaVine turned in a 27-point performance on Sunday against the Brooklyn Nets but it wasn't enough to help the Bulls win. Chicago is on a four-game losing streak and they are preparing for a brutal five-game road trip.

During their Western Conference swing, the Bulls will play the Portland Trailblazers, Golden State Warriors, Utah Jazz, Los Angeles Lakers and Denver Nuggets. All five teams have playoff potential so the Bulls will be tested.

Chicago will need to play more physical during this road trip. The teams they play feature strong frontcourts and fast-paced offenses.

LaVine and company will have their hands full and they can't afford to get off to slow starts in games.
