At the moment there is very little doubt, if any, that Chicago Bulls star Zach LaVine is one of the top players in the game today. However, what most folks might not know is how Los Angeles Rams All-Pro wide receiver was also a pretty formidable basketball player during his high school days.

Right now, an epic battle between LaVine and Kupp is currently making its rounds on social media. Apparently, Cooper Kupp could have had a career in basketaball if he opted to take a different career path (h/t Washington SportsNetwork on YouTube):

LaVine was already a highly-touted recruit at that point and his Bothell Cougars were considered as a real threat to Kupp's Davis Pirates. Kupp, who at that time was a senior and also starred on the school's football team, played a major role in locking down the Bulls star in this matchup. Kupp finished with 19 points as his Pirates came out with a blowout win over LaVine and Co., 79-45.

Be that as it may, we're pretty sure football fans everywhere are glad that Kupp picked football over basketball. This is especially true for Rams fans, who will be cheering on Kupp and the rest of the Rams during Sunday's NFC Championship game against the San Francisco 49ers.
