Arizona Cardinals defensive end Chandler Jones is very excited about what the upcoming season has to offer.

The 30-year-old spoke to the Associated Press and gave high praise to the offseason moves the Cardinals made in the last couple of months, especially on the defensive side of the ball. The Pro-Bowl pass rusher summed up how he felt in one sentence.

“We look loaded,” Jones said, via David Brandt of the Associated Press.

It's not hard to understand why Jones is elated, as Arizona has been busy upgrading their defense which ranked last in the league in yards allowed per game. To shore up their defense, the Cardinals signed linebackers Devon Kennard and De'Vondre Campbell, as well as defensive tackle Jordan Phillips.

In addition, Arizona selected former Clemson standout linebacker Isaiah Simmons eighth overall in the 2020 Draft.

Jones also gave second-year defensive coordinator Vance Joseph high remarks and mentioned that the new Cardinal, Simmons, should be able to adjust to the NFL right away.

“Watching guys like (Simmons), you can’t not draft him,” Chandler Jones said about the Cardinals rookie. “I’m surprised that he fell to us honestly. He’s the kind of guy that you can’t compare him to anyone. He’s a player who can play anywhere. I thought he was a pass rusher and then I turn on the film and this guy’s covering guys, interceptions. The sky’s the limit for him.”

The Cardinals are in a very competitive NFC West, and they are banking on their improved defense, as well as a potent offense led by second-year quarterback Kyler Murray, to make a playoff run this 2020.
