Kyler Murray is leading the Arizona Cardinals to a very promising season. Their record is 7-1, their offense is one of the best in the league and the 24-year-old Murray is the leader behind it. He has a great shot to be named to the Pro Bowl again. The only thing holding back the young, star quarterback is an ankle injury that has limited his availability in practice.

On a local radio show, general manaer Steve Keim explained the decision-making process when it comes to playing Murray this Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers.

Per Darren Urban of AZCardinals.com:

“I know Kyler can play, he extremely tough, and I don't think there are any questions in our organization internally about his mental makeup or his willingness to play through anything,” Keim said during an appearance on the “Burns and Gambo” show on 98.7, Arizona's Sports Station. “We have to be smart whether he is going to play or not and think about the big picture. We have to make sure we don't re-aggravate something or do something that is going to hurt us later in the season. I know we will do the right thing and go through the checks and balances process and make sure the right decision is made.”

The possible absence of Murray is just one of the uncertainties heading into the Cardinals' matchup with their divisional rival. They will likely be without both DeAndre Hopkins and A.J. Green while three coaches will be unavailable due to COVID-19 protocols.
