The Arizona Cardinals want to put their 2018 season behind them, when they finished with the worst record in the NFL at 3-13. Kliff Kingsbury wants to do something about it.

In order for the Cardinals to improve and never put themselves in that position again, it starts with the chemistry among owner Michael Bidwill, general manager Steve Keim, and head coach Kliff Kingsbury.

It takes more than just a good-looking head coach and a few top free-agent additions to improve. The Cardinals can hope that they found the next Sean McVay, but the entire front office needs to know how to work together.

In the past, we've seen Steve Keim make poor draft decisions with first-round picks. His lack of aggressiveness in free agency has also stood out. Bidwill has reiterated his trust in Keim many times; Bidwill and Keim need to know the type of players that fit in Kingsbury's offensive plan to put themselves in a position to succeed.

The relationship between Keim and former Cardinals head coach Steve Wilks was rather disappointing. They could not see eye-to-eye to build chemistry with their 2018 offense. Wilks had his own plans for building the team. The organization can't move from a 3-4 to a 4-3 if its defense was already considered to be one of the best in the NFL.

It takes one unit to make an organization successful.

Here's what new Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor had to say about the success he had with the Los Angeles Rams:

“In L.A., I saw a great relationship between Sean, (GM) Les Snead and (team president) Kevin Demoff,” he said. “That’s one of the reasons why that organization was so successful, because they were one unit. There were no egos there. They were able to communicate effectively and put the best team on the field.”

If the Cardinals can communicate effectively, they can propel themselves out of the NFC West cellar.
