The NFL trade deadline has passed and Patrick Peterson is staying put with the Arizona Cardinals. While speaking to the media after the deadline had ended, Peterson reacted to not being moved via trade.

Over the past couple of weeks, rumors involving Peterson being traded continued to gain ground in the media. As a result, Peterson was constantly being hounded on questions pertaining to his status with the team moving forward.

Now, he can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that he won't need to answer those questions any longer. In the end, the veteran corner is going to remain with the team that drafted him.

Without a doubt, there were likely a few teams who called the Cardinals to inquire about the All-Pro corner. But ever since his name surfaced in trade rumors, Arizona had held true to not wanting to trade their No. 1 cornerback—regardless of the price.

Peterson began the season on a six-game suspension that was handed to him during the offseason. The former LSU Tiger is in his ninth year with the Cardinals and is still one of the best corners in the NFL.

At 29-years-old, Arizona still views Peterson as a piece that helps them get better in the future. Kliff Kingsbury has shared that sentiment since he arrived to the Cardinals and he hasn't changed that in recent weeks.

Whether or not the Cardinals were willing to move him, the price to lure Peterson would've been monumental.

For the time being, Peterson will continue his career with the Cardinals, but teams could open up talks again next March.
