In the Arizona Cardinals' blowout win over the Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football, Cardinals running back Kenyan Drake went off for 164 yards on 20 carries and scored two touchdowns to help Arizona win by a final score of 38-10.

It appears the Cardinals coaching staff has Drake's mom to thank, as the 26-year-old got a motivational message from her before the Cowboys game.

Via Darren Urban of AZ Cardinals.com:

Kenyan Drake hadn't talked to his Mom in almost a week, the running back still trying to clear his head following a subpar performance in a win over the Jets.

Then she called Drake right before the Monday night game against the Cowboys.

“Hey son,” she said, “you going to hit some holes today?”

“I got you,” Drake told his mother. “It really hit home when your own mom is not liking what she sees out there. I just had to buckle up and play ball. Get north and south and make them tackle me going forward.”

Entering the Cowboys game, Drake only had 314 yards on the ground and was averaging just 3.69 yards per attempt—by far the worst mark in the Cardinals rusher's career.

Sure, Dallas has arguably the worst defense in the NFL, so Drake would have likely torched them even if his mom didn't text him.

However, mom's know best and Drake clearly used his mom's text as motivation to silence his critics and put on a show on Monday Night Football.

The Cardinals, who are 4-2 on the season, will face the undefeated Seattle Seahawks in Week 7. It's an important game for Drake and Co., as the Cardinals are tied with the Los Angeles Rams for second place in the NFC West and need to keep up with the Seahawks.
