The Arizona Cardinals enter the 2022 NFL offseason following a disappointing end to the season. Arizona bowed out of the playoffs in the first round, a lackluster showing after they looked like the league's best team earlier in the year. The Cardinals might have a strong roster, but they still have work to do this offseason, which starts with the free agency period. One of the Cardinals' biggest free agents is pass rusher Chandler Jones, who is coming off of a 10.5 sack season for Arizona. Jones' future received a big update by Cardinals reporter Josh Weinfuss of ESPN ahead of his free agency bid.

Weinfuss, who was at the NFL Combine listening to Cardinals general manager Steve Keim speak, said it doesn't sound like Chandler Jones will be in Arizona next year.

It certainly wouldn't be surprising to see the Cardinals let Jones, 32, walk in free agency. For one thing, the Cardinals aren't exactly flush with cap space.

For another, the market is likely to be robust for Jones, who has seven double-digit sack seasons to his name. Considering the NFL just watched a defense led by two premier pass rushers win the Super Bowl, there should be a fairly decent market out there for the Cardinals' free agent to be.

The Cardinals also might not be willing to even pay up for Jones, who had five sacks in the first game of the season, then just 5.5 in the final 14 contests.

It will be interesting to see what happens, though it seems like Chandler Jones will be in a different uniform next season.
