With a Carolina Panthers road matchup in the Big Apple against the New York Giants on tap for Week 7, two teams who have been on a slide look to rebound in this Sunday matinee. With Sam Darnold struggling to carry the load for a Carolina squad that's missing star RB Christian McCaffrey, we've got some bold predictions for whether they can bounceback or not in this Panthers-Giants matchup.

It's been a rough go for the Panthers recently, as they've dropped their last three games in a row after starting the year to a scorching 3-0 start. This past week ended in heartbreak as the Minnesota Vikings walked them off with a touchdown in overtime. Sam Darnold had an off day, going 17/41 for 207 yards with a touchdown and an interception. They're now third in the NFC South, so this game will be pivotal in setting them on the right course for a playoff berth this year.

On the other side, the Giants just got drubbed 38-11 by the Rams, dropping them to a paltry 1-5 on the year. With key offensive starters seemingly dropping like flies, it's been a rough going for a team that isn't deep on offense to begin with.

These two teams are in danger of losing any chance of having a successful season early on, and so this game is crucial. Who will come out on top? Here are 4 bold predictions for the contest.

Carolina Panthers Week 7 Predictions

4. Sam Darnold bounces back with 300+ yards, 3 TDs

Though Darnold has had two subpar games in a row, he's got a prime opportunity to get back to the level he was playing at the first four weeks. The Giants have been struggling on the defensive side of the ball, as they've given up an average of 41 points per game over the last 2 games. In order for Darnold to prove that his early career struggles are a product of the Jets' ineptitude, rather than his own ability, he'll need to step up in an easier matchup. Watch out for a big game.

3. DJ Moore continues huge season, goes off for 100 yards

If Darnold is going to have a big game, than his No. 1 target, DJ Moore, is going to have to have a big game as well. Robby Anderson has struggled mightily with drops recently, so Moore will be targeted early and often. He's on pace for a career year, as he's on pace for 1453 yards in this 17 game season, and will face a vulnerable New York secondary. It's a perfect storm for success.

2. Chuba Hubbard explodes for 150 scrimmage yards

Hubbard has performed admirably since he's filled in for Christian McCaffrey, which included a 134 scrimmage yard performance against the Eagles. As he's been getting a feature back workload as an excellent backup running back, his touches will continue to increase this week now that he's been fully integrated into the offense. Darnold will have to look for Hubbard a lot, given the poor performances from the Panthers' other receivers, which will give him a huge day from scrimmage.

1. Panthers breeze to bounceback win

Though they've hit a cold stretch, the Panthers are simply more talented than the current, beat-up Giants squad on both sides of the ball. It's going to be all Carolina from beginning to end.

PREDICTION: Panthers 24, Giants 14
