Cassie Ventura is breaking her silence about the disturbing 2016 video that surfaced where then-boyfriend Sean “Diddy” Combs is seen physically abusing her in a California hotel. The singer and model took to Instagram to thank her fans and supporters on social media about the incident.

“Thank you for all of the love and support from my family, friends, strangers and those I have yet to meet,” Ventura wrote in a post shared on Instagram. “The outpouring of love has created a place for my younger self to settle and feel safe now, but this is only the beginning.”

Ventura continued, “Domestic Violence is THE issue. It broke me down to someone I never thought I would become. With a lot of hard work, I am better today, but I will always be recovering from my past.”

The model added that she is advocating for victims of domestic violence and how people are to support them when they need it the most.

“My only ask is that EVERYONE open your heart to believing victims the first time. It takes a lot of heart to tell the truth out of a situation that you were powerless in,” Ventura wrote. “I offer my hand to those that are still living in fear. Reach out to your people, don’t cut them off. No one should carry this weight alone.”

“This healing journey is never ending, but this support means everything to me,” she concluded her message.

Several celebrities offered words of support under Ventura's post.

“We love you so much Cassie,” singer Chloe Bailey wrote.

“In every echo of your bravery, Cassie, there lies a melody of hope that dances through the silence. Your voice has been a shield and sanctuary for many, including me. Thank you for turning your fight into your light,” television host Jeannie Mai responded.

“I hope you realize how your bravery against a seemingly untouchable giant gave so many other women and men the confidence to come forward too! You suffered for too long and we love to see you properly loved and protected now beautiful! Thank you for not being afraid to go first!!” model Claudia Jordan wrote.

Ventura's husband, Alex Fine, commented on the post, writing, “Love you so much, perfect example for our daughters.”

The “You & Me” singer and Fine got married in 2019 and share two daughters: Frankie, 4, and Sunny, 3.

Diddy Apologizes For 2016 Video Of Cassie Ventura

Sean "Diddy" Combs, Diddy apology video

Ventura's statement follows the apology Diddy made earlier this week addressing the 2016 video.

“It’s so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life, but sometimes you got to do that,” Combs said in a video statement posted to Instagram. “I was f**ked up — I hit rock bottom — but I make no excuses. My behavior on that video is inexcusable.”

He continued: “I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I am disgusted. I was disgusted then when I did it. I’m disgusted now.”

While Diddy seems to be speaking about the 2016 video, he does not mention Ventura by her name.

According to CNN, the reason behind neither Ventura nor Diddy using one another's names in their statements circles back to the November 2023 settlement in which they are not to speak about one another.
